My name is Lisa Felecia Westerman. I am a first-generation Afro-Indigenous Jamaican Woman, born and raised on Wendat and Haudenosaunee traditional lands, colonially known as Toronto, Ontario. I acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which I Love and Grow and Raise my three Black children , I pay my respect to the traditional territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations.

I am a Full-Spectrum Doula and Anti-Oppressive  Social Worker with a minor in political science and Caribbean Studies, which I obtained at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2013. I am committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally safe, and inclusive care. My heritage is rooted in the Maroon people of Jamaica and the Taíno people of the Caribbean, and I carry this ancestry with me into my work and the communities I serve.

I believe deeply in informed birth that every birthing person, regardless of race, culture, language, or orientation, deserves access to the knowledge and support they need to make empowered choices about their care. I am dedicated to advocating for Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+ families, and for anyone facing barriers to information due to systemic inequities.

My practice spans pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss support, and is rooted in community, justice, healing, and cultural inclusion. I believe that birth and pregnancy are sacred experiences, and that every birthing person deserves to be surrounded by care, respect, and community. I also honor traditional and ancestral knowledge as powerful sources of healing and empowerment.

Most importantly, I am the proud mother of three beautiful Black children, whom I advocate for daily, and I bring that same fierce love and dedication to every family I serve.
