ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕਾਖਾਲਸਾਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫਤਹਿ॥

My name is ਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ (Deep Kaur). My family is indigenous to ਪੰਜਾਬ (Punjab) and my grandparents settled on the traditional territories of the Tse’Khene peoples (Mackenzie) in 1970, where I was also born and raised. 

For a long time I knew I wanted to do something meaningful with my time here, I wanted my inner feelings and my outward actions to align. This led me on a path of continuous learning about herbal medicine, labour and birth and Ayurvedic massage and now I have the great honour of being a labour and birth doula.

Labour and birth is a true miracle, and it’s a blessing to be invited into, and present in a space where parents eagerly await the arrival of their little one(s). Being able to support and witness the birth giver move and breathe through their labour and birthing journey and witness them seeing and holding their little one(s) for the first time is the most beautiful thing. 

I look forward to supporting those who welcome me into their space. I realize the importance of surrounding ourselves with individuals who will be there for us, how we want and need them to be  — especially in preparation for, and during labour and birth. I would be honoured to be that support for anyone who needs it.
