Join the collective
Nesting Doula Collective is recruiting Birth Doulas to join our team! We are looking for dedicated anti-oppressive and culturally affirming birth workers who can provide non-judgemental and evidence-based care and advocacy to our Indigenous, Black, and racialized clients in Greater Victoria or Metro Vancouver.
By joining the Nesting Doula Collective, you will work collaboratively with a community of dedicated and experienced doulas who believe in holding each other accountable in their learning to make a greater impact on birthing families, reproductive justice, and liberatory birth practices. We are a grassroots group that practices consensus-based decision making and non-hierarchical leadership. We expect all our collective members to participate based on their capacity in the governance and administration of our voluntarily run initiative. We collectively set the rules, timelines, and compensation for our work as racialized doulas.
Our work is compensated through mutual-aid funds raised through monthly donations from generous and dedicated community members. Births funded through the collective are compensated at $1200/client including prenatal visits, continuous support during labour, and postpartum debriefs/check-ins. Please note that Nesting Doula Collective is not an employer or doula agency. We don’t provide a guaranteed income or caseload per doula. We also don’t retain any part of your doula fees. Clients and doulas are matched based on compatibility and client requests.
If birth justice and grassroots organizing is your passion, join us! Please read the eligibility requirements and application process below before submitting your application by July 31st, 2025 to nestingdoula@gmail.com.
